The Election Commission of Pakistan has set December 31 as the deadline for all parliament members to submit their asset and liability declarations. According to the commission, submitting these statements is mandatory for the fiscal year 2024-25. The Parliament members asset declaration deadline ensures transparency and accountability in public office.

The commission stated that members must include assets and liabilities of their spouses and dependent children in the declaration. The submissions must be made on the prescribed Form B, as required under the Election Act.

The Election Commission warned that names of members who fail to submit their declarations by the deadline will be published on January 1. Those who still do not comply by January 15 will have their membership suspended.

Suspended parliament members will not be allowed to participate in any assembly proceedings until their declarations are submitted. Additionally, members providing false or incorrect information will face legal action, which will be implemented within 120 days of detection.

Form B can be obtained free of charge from the Election Commission Secretariat or relevant offices, and it is also available on the commission’s official website. All members have been instructed to comply within the given timeframe, making the Parliament members asset declaration deadline a crucial step for maintaining accountability in the legislative process.
